My friend Cary is going to be moving to Atlanta — he got a gig as a paid programming intern for the World of Darkness MMO. And if he does well with that for 2-3 months, then he’ll be hired on as a “real” programmer. He might possibly be bunking here; such details are yet to be determined. There shall be a welcoming party with much booze, oh yes. Yes indeed.
My friend Cary came down to apply for a job doing MMORPG programming for the upcoming World of Darkness game, and he picked quite a good weekend to come; partying abounded all weekend long.
Been a while, so time to do some catch-up. Last weekend was Fuller‘s wedding. We went up to Nashville, stayed a night at Jared and Niquie‘s place along with Christy and the Bagwell spawn Michelle. It was great to hang out with the Tennessee crew again, and to finally get to meet the zergling. As I would expect any child of Bagwell’s to be (before age 12 or 13), she was quite well-behaved.
Due to a timezone SNAFU, we were an hour late and missed the actual ceremony *coughjaredcough*. I’m not much one for ceremony anyway, so it wasn’t a big deal — but it did suck to miss the “I do” moment. Also, it meant that I didn’t get to borrow Fuller’s Canon Rebel XT camera, which I was muchly looking forward to. Ah well, c’est la vie.
When Fuller and Brittany came into the reception, the MC announced them as, “Mister and misses Brittany Full– I mean… Chris Fuller.” This got a few calls from the peanut gallery to the effect of, “Nope, you got it right the first time!”

I was up in Louisville last weekend, somewhat for the Kentucky Derby, but mostly to visit friends and family. For those not from the Bluegrass state, the Kentucky Derby is the Super Bowl of horse racing. All sorts of celebrities come into town (the Queen of England even attended), there’s a week-long festival of drinking and music and fireworks preceding it, and in general it’s a good excuse to party. I would have posted this earlier, but the Internet connection at my dad’s is crappy, to say the least.
As a preliminary note, I’ve found a way to make posts on my personal journal and have them automatically post to my LiveJournal. This is the first such post, so here’s hoping that it works.
Last weekend was action-packed. First was a day of floor-slamming, joint locks, arm bars, and choke holds. That’s right, it was a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu seminar. Probably uninteresting to the majority of you, so I only leave you with a picture of the gi burn that it left me with (click on it for a larger version). For those interested in such things, the school I go to is the Francis Fong Martial Arts Academy.
Sunday, it was time for the Renaissance Festival. Unfortunately, in this nice southern state of Georgia… it was in the low 50s on Sunday, and windy enough to make it feel upper 30s. On the plus side, parking was easy, and the shows were small enough that it was easier to banter with the performers. Oh, and I almost got my penis removed by a bullwhip.
